Why Origins ‘A Perfect World’ Skincare Is Making Me Glow

While not a self-proclaimed beauty expert by any means, the theme of the next few years to come is PREVENTION.

I am currently in my mid-twenties and in my perfect world my forty-fifty-sixty year old self is thanking me for the exact moment I decided to start taking care of my skin – not exactly for the short term perks (although those are nice as well) but for the long term benefits of having smooth, healthy, glowing skin as I age.

Enter Origins A Perfect World collection.

Since I decided to put my PREVENTION plan into play, I have been experimenting with a lot of separate products. Retinol, drug store moisturizer, expensive moisturizer, random things I thought would help me? (As mentioned earlier, I am totally new to the beauty game)

When Origins sent me their entire A Perfect World collection – meant to hydrate and prevent aging – it was the regimen I had been seeking. I had all of the steps from cleanser to serum to eye moisturizer to face moisturizer for both the AM and PM. I felt super prepared and in control of my routine instead of the fumbling me trying to make sense of the skincare world.

The first thing I initially loved about Origin’s A Perfect World collection is how much it truly hydrates. I have dry-bone-flaking-it-hurts-so-dry type of skin. At first, I thought the AM and PM moisturizers were almost too moisturizing, leaving a dewy layer behind. However after about 20 minutes, that thick dewy layer disappears and soaks into my pores. If I am in a rush, I will put just a little less moisturizer on in the morning to speed up the moisturizing process. However, at night time I always put the full amount and let it sit, soak, and do its full work.

If you are putting on makeup in the morning after putting the Age Defense Moisturizer with White Tea SPF 40 on, wait about 10 minutes before applying to allow the moisturizer to fully soak and set in. It is thick and creamy and works like butter – but I do like waiting a few minutes for it to set before placing my foundation on.

Of all the products, the Age-Defense Skin Guardian with White Tea Serum is my favorite. It serves as a pearl-like shield for your face after you have washed your skin with the Antioxidant Cleanser with White Tea (which leaves your skin feeling both squeaky clean and richly soft at the same time – I didn’t know there was a difference until one of the Origins skincare expert pointed this out to me).

For a breakdown of how I have been using The Origins Skincare The Perfect World line here is my AM and PM routine:

Morning Routine:

  1. Antioxidant Cleanser
  2. Age-Defense Treatment Lotion with White Tea
  3. Age-Defense Skin Guardian with White Tea (serum)
  4. Age-Defense Eye Cream with SPF 20
  5. SPF 40 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea

Night Routine:

  1. Antioxidant Cleanser
  2. Age-Defense Treatment Lotion with White Tea
  3. Age-Defense Skin Guardian with White Tea (serum)
  4. Anti-Oxidant Moisturizer with White Tea

And then, throughout the day I have been applying the Highly Hydrating Body Lotion with White Tea to my hands – which get cracked and dry like a desert-bound rhinoceros. To start my hydrating off right, I use their Creamy Body Cleanser With White Tea – basically an all around moisturizing regimen!

Anti-Oxidant Cleanser
Age-Defense Treatment Lotion with White Tea
Age-Defense Eye Cream with SPF 20 and Age-Defense Skin Guardian with White Tea (serum)
SPF 40 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea

Hydrating and prevention is the name of the game here with the two key ingredients of the collection: white tea with its rich and concentrated anti-oxidants and edelweiss which helps strengthen my skin’s barrier against harsh environmental impacts it receives throughout the day.

The only thing missing from this cohesive and targeted collection is an exfoliator. Prone to blackheads, a weekly exfoliator is a consistent must for my pores.

So, as a newbie to the skincare game – but a major proponent of prevention – Origin’s A Perfect World skincare has significantly helped my skin stay moisturized, which in return helps my makeup remain dewy versus flakey throughout the day. Just yesterday, my aunt started raving about my skin and how glowing it looked only to be followed-up by a compliment from my fiancé who doubly noticed my glowing skin later that afternoon.

If you walk away from this post wanting to choose one product, I would say the Serum takes the cake with the moisturizer set taking a sincerely close second.

For now, I will be using the entire set and loving the texture of my skin: moisturized just like butter!

What does your perfect world look like?
